Obituary:

Esther Annette Tracey, age 83, of Pikesville, Maryland, died peacefully on June 7th, 2023 at Brightview Westminster Ridge. She was the daughter of the late James and Esther (Yox) Warren. Born August 1, 1939 at her family’s home in Druid Ridge cemetery, she was named after her mother but known her whole life as Annette.
She is survived by her husband James M. Tracey, Jr., her three children and their spouses, Scott and Meghan Tracey, Chris and Sharon Tracey, and Amy and Bobby McCaffrey; as well as five granddaughters, Megan (John Gamber) Tracey, Amanda Tracey, Madison Webb, Kelsey McCaffrey, and Kendall McCaffrey. Her firstborn child, Sandra Tracey, was born in 1962 and passed shortly thereafter. She is also survived by her sisters Janet (George) Welsh and Judy (Kenneth) Watson, and was predeceased by her brother James Warren, Jr.
Annette spent her early years in Pikesville with her family and many friends, who she remained close to all her life. She married in 1961 and moved to Randallstown, where she would raise her own family. When her children were teenagers she went back to work at the Layton Company, first as a bookkeeper and later an insurance agent. In 1999 Annette moved back to Pikesville to help care for her parents. She continued to work out of her home office with her sister, Janet, until Annette’s retirement at age 70.
Annette enjoyed bowling and was an avid bridge player. She loved the beach, good music (the Bee Gees), and her family above all. She and her husband were active in the Optimist Club and were all-around very involved in their community. She was a caring and unwavering matriarch, cherished by her family, and loved by all who had the great pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation will take place on the first day of summer (Annette’s favorite season), Wednesday, June 21st, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.; and the memorial service at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 22nd, at Burrier Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Winfield M.D.
