Obituary:

James Fram Whetzel, 76 of Baltimore, MD (Windsor Mill), died on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore City, MD.
He was the spouse of Roberta Ann Whetzel (nee Carter).
He was born October 21, 1947, in Baltimore City, MD the son of the late Carmel Brown Whetzel of Winchester, VA and the late Mary Jo Whetzel (nee Fram) of Baltimore, MD.
James was the owner of Whetzel and Son Construction Co. He was a former member of Colonial Baptist church in Randallstown, MD, where he served as a trustee, Deacon, and a Sunday School teacher. He also played on the church softball team. He later became a member and Deacon of Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg, MD, where he served as the head of the property and space committee.
James Whetzel was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the father of James C. Whetzel & wife Meleah of Finksburg, MD, Melissa Ann Whetzel of Baltimore, MD, Michael Whetzel of Baltimore, MD and Joy Greenwald (nee Whetzel) of Falling Waters, WV; Loving grandfather of Jeremiah Brooks, James Whetzel, Jonathan Whetzel, Jeanna Whetzel, Kyle Whetzel, Emma Whetzel, Ricky Greenwald, Taylor Whetzel and William Greenwald. Devoted brother of Sharon Felde, Jeanette Miller, Susan McGiffin and Mary Jo Muller. James was a loving and loyal long-time friend to Bud Carroll and Robin Collins.
James Whetzel was a very loving and kind gentleman that loved his family more than anything. Married to the love of his life for 58 years. He loved to watch and coach his son’s Baseball teams and even taking Liberty Road Baseball to the Championship. He also loved to watch and coach his daughter play Softball. James Whetzel also known as “Pop” or “Pops” to many. He loved like no other; he loved to build homes and anything with woodworking. He helped build the community; and loved to help anyone in need.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday January 3, 2024 from 6-8 PM and again on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at which time Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM with Mitch Camp officiating; which Service will be Livestreamed, www.burrier-queen.com, . Refreshments will be at the funeral home Celebration Room (which he and his son built) following the service.
Private inurnment will be at a later date.
