Obituary:

L. Thomas “Tom” Haddaway, age 87, of Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at his home.

He was born December 26, 1934, in Baltimore, MD., the son of the late Leonard W. Haddaway and the late Mary Ann Haddaway (nee Zahner).

Tom was the husband of Sylvia Rose Haddaway (nee Downes), for 56 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his five children; James Haddaway, Robin Ann Nodes, Anita Dowker, Jennifer Welsh, and Eve Haddaway.; grandchildren: Sara Bardzik, Rachel Reinke, Ryan Welsh, Janene Smith, Allison McIlvaine, Christina Starner, Amy Holcombe, Thomas Vielandi, Rose Vielandi, Lucy Pomles, William Pomles, Scott Haddaway and Jessica Enos and 15 great grandchildren; brother of Steve Haddaway (deceased) and Lee Haddaway.

Tom enjoyed many hobbies and activities in his lifetime. He loved all animals, especially dogs, and was an avid Equestrian for many of his younger years. Tom was also a talented artist and loved to paint. He loved listening to music as well as creating it and was a member of a band in his youth. In his adult years, one could find him happily working on a home project, his MG, and later in life he developed a knack for gardening. He also discovered Racquetball in his 60’s and played in a league at the Towson YMCA for years. Tom and his wife also spent many years at their Florida home, where he loved to fish from the surf and enjoy a cigar. Tom had many interests in his life, but nothing compared to his greatest passion, his beloved wife Sylvia.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM, at which time Funeral Memorial Service will begin at 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home; with Pastor Quintin Merson officiating. Interment to follow at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1601 Taylor Ave., Baltimore, MD 21234.
